Karen's Review Of This Property:
Casa Bella is an exceptional, moderately-priced, boutique hotel in the heart of Cabo San Lucas—within steps of the colorful marina, endless boutiques, cute restaurants, and lively bars. The hotel is literally quite amazing—walking down the street you would never dream such a jewel could exist right in the center of town. The attractive white-stuccoed exterior, which is accented by arched doorways and wrought iron balconies, stands out from the bland buildings surrounding it. However, it is not until you step inside that the true wonder of the property is revealed. Magically, you find a lovely old-world-style hacienda surrounding a spacious inner courtyard. The courtyard features a beautifully-kept garden, pretty fountains, potted plants, palm trees, roses, bougainvillea, a whimsical gazebo, and a splendid swimming pool. Large comfortable bedrooms face the courtyard and are attractively furnished—many with family antiques. The bathrooms are particularly nice. Most have huge walk in showers made of colorful Talavera tiles. For many years Casa Bella was the home of the Ungson family who converted the hacienda into a charming small hotel in 2004. The daughter, Barbara, now manages the hotel for her family. It was her great grand father, who began the dynasty. In the 1800s, he left China as a boy of 16 to escape the Opium Wars and ended up in Mexico.
