Karen's Review Of This Property:
Joe and Kay O’Flynn bought Rathsallagh House, a converted Queen Anne stables with 530 acres of farmland, in 1978. Encouraged by the spaciousness of the house, Kay opened three rooms for bed and breakfast guests and thus began a venture that has evolved into the country house hotel and golf club that you see today. Tractor sheds and barns are gone, replaced by a parade of bedrooms, and fields that lined the driveway are now the groomed fairways of a championship golf course rated one of the top 30 in Ireland. The billiard room, tennis court, Jacuzzi, sauna and capacious gardens encourage total relaxation. While the size of the operation makes it all seem rather grand, Rathsallagh manages to keep the bonhomie of a friendly, relaxed country house hotel complete with homey touches like turf and log fires in the drawing rooms. Begin the day with a lavish breakfast, choosing from an array of savory dishes on the sideboard. Relax with a drink and then enjoy your dinner which features fresh local produce, herbs and vegetables from Rathsallagh’s gardens. Realize that you deserve the best and stay in one of the deluxe stable rooms. It's just a 45 minute drive to the K Club where the Ryder Cup was held in 2006. Sightseeing includes the Wicklow Mountains, Glendalough, and the National Stud.
