Hotel de la Poste
A Karen Brown Recommended Hotel / Inn
Owner: Manaigo family |

Karen's Review Of This Property:
As Cortina has grown from a mountain outpost to a chic resort, so the Hotel de la Poste has grown from a simple mail coach stop to one of the top accommodations, the last big expansion being made to accommodate visitors during the 1956 Olympics. The Manaigo family has been at the helm for the last century. Currently Marisa, her nephew Gottardo, and her daughter Michela continues to keep the hotel's long-standing reputation afloat, while offering guests the warmest of welcomes. Bedrooms vary from a sumptuous suite in the oldest, thick-walled building to a snug single room with small shower room in the new wing. You can choose from mountain views to town views and decor that varies from traditional to modern. Breakfast is taken in the corner breakfast room or outside on the patio in sunny weather, a great spot for people-watching on the main street of town. Dinner is enjoyed in the grand dining room with its soaring ceiling and ornate plasterwork. Other scattered sitting rooms have a definite old-fashioned charm. In winter skiing is de rigueur, while in summer hiking on a wide variety of trails, shopping in the sophisticated stores, and simply just enjoying stunning views of the Dolomites are the order of the day.
