Relax in the countryside just 6 kilometers from the bustling city of Verona at the exquisite Villa del Quar where you can enjoy excellent accommodations, gourmet dining (two Michelin stars), and the warmth and charm of a family-managed hotel. The gracious owner, Leopoldo Montresor, is a talented architect who spared no expense to assure that his renovations resulted in an estate exuding charm and taste. The Montresors live in one wing of the villa, conveniently close for Evelina Acampora-Montresor, who manages the hotel. The property has been in the Montresor family for many generations—ever since Leopoldo’s great-great-great-grandfather won the land in a game of cards at the casino in Venice in the early 1800s. Your heart will be captivated from the moment you pass the family chapel and enter the reception lounge, elegantly decorated with finely upholstered sofas in warm shades of pinks and mellow yellows. Sunlight floods the room through a wall of windows, which open onto an inviting side terrace where guests dine in warm weather. There is also a superb 16th-century wine cellar and a most attractive beamed-ceilinged winetasting room where meals are served elegantly on tables set with fine linens. The guestrooms are equally appealing and furnished in antiques. A large swimming pool is set enchantingly in a meadow with vineyards stretching almost to the edge of the pool, where a gazebo bar is at guests’ disposal.
