Karen's Review Of This Property:
The Veneto region has so much to offer travelers in art, history, and culture, yet remains terribly weak when it comes to charming bed and breakfasts. This is mainly due to the very strict regulations particular to this region. The Ca’Masieri is a pleasant combination of both hotel and bed and breakfast style accommodation in a country setting. The countryside property has been in the Zarantonello family for three generations and was transformed into a restaurant and inn after Signor Giovanni looked for a creative way to maintain the farm. He and his partner, Angelo, opened the restaurant first, creating an intimate ambiance within three stenciled dining rooms in the main villa. The restaurant gained considerable recognition and the next logical step was to offer a place to stay in the stone farmhouse right next door. These two buildings and the attached barn form a quadrangle, with a gated-in terraced swimming pool. The seven bedrooms are very comfortable with many amenities, though their modern decor contrasts with the country setting. The five new suites in the adjoining wing (former stables) are more in keeping with the general ambiance of the place. Signor Giovanni is also on Vicenza’s tourism board and can suggest many itineraries in the area (villas of Palladio etc.).
