Karen's Review Of This Property:
Asolo, a jewel of a village tucked into hills northwest of Venice, is one of Italy’s best-kept secrets. While once again exploring this magical town, we looked up from the main square and saw the pretty mustard-yellow Albergo al Sole nestled on the hill above us. Albergo al Sole has a wonderful location in this very special town, with its famous Palladian villas and world reputation for the production of wonderful wines. With excellent quality and pretty furnishings throughout, the Albergo al Sole is a terrific value. The guestrooms are spacious and decorated appealingly. The bathrooms too are exceptionally large and prettily tiled. All the rooms have satellite LCD TV and mini-bar. If you are on a budget, even the least expensive rooms are very lovely, although they do not have the same village view as the more expensive rooms. If you are looking for a truly special room, you need not splurge on a suite, but rather ask for a deluxe double. Our favorite, the Eleonora Duse, is a very pretty corner room decorated with antiques and with large windows overlooking Asolo. The entire hotel follows a basic color scheme that combines the cheerful colors of pretty pinks and yellows. The hotel has a wonderful informal terrace restaurant “La Terrazza” with a panoramic view overlooking the town of Asolo. Ask about the gourmet dinners in the exclusive 16th century “Cave of Bacco.” The hotel also offers cooking classes, a fitness center, and massages.
