Karen's Review Of This Property:
Hotel Albergotto, situated on a corner of the elegant Via de Tornabuoni with its austere Renaissance palazzos and designer boutiques, could not be more central. It existed for the past century as a small hotel once hosting illustrious musical and literary artists like Verdi, Elliot, and Donizetti, but had been virtually forgotten in recent decades. A complete renovation has brought it back to life and it is an excellent choice in the middle price range. From the street entrance you take a red-carpeted flight of stairs to reach the elevator up to the rooms on the top three floors. Beyond the reception desk are two breakfast rooms and a comfortable living room decorated in royal-blue tones with large windows looking out to Tornabuoni. Light-wood floors throughout the hotel give the place a fresh and newer look. Very pleasant, cheerful bedrooms in mustard hues with matching floral bedspreads have amenities such as air conditioning, satellite TV, and mini-bar. The double-paned windows keep out any traffic noise from the main street. Most delightful is the large mansard suite with wood-beamed ceilings and views over the city’s rooftops and bell towers. The friendly staff will help you to enjoy your stay.
