Alcala
A Karen Brown Recommended B & B
Host: Anna Sappupo family |

Karen's Review Of This Property:
The Alcala farm, made up of citrus and olive groves extends over 75 acres of fertile plain backdropped by the Etna volcano—a picture-perfect setting. Cordial hostess Anna Sappupo La Rosa and her family have taken over the family’s agricultural business and have added hospitality activity as well. The main house is a hundred-year-old masseria, built in several sections. Guests are situated nearby in four different apartment setups (one has handicapped facilities) for two to six persons. Two of them are separate houses and all have terraces of varying dimensions. They include living room areas and kitchenettes simply decorated with floral sofas and a mix of modern and old family furniture. Although breakfast is not served, guests can help themselves in season to plenty of oranges, tangerines, and grapefruit. An occasional Sicilian dinner is served by request in your apartment. Anna, a native Sicilian, gladly assists her guests with touring suggestions, which include Catania city (important where not to go), Siracusa, Etna National Park, and the temples of Agrigento. She is also happy to arrange for a guided tour of the farm.
