Karen's Review Of This Property:
Venture north from Rome to explore the scenic countryside and medieval villages of Sabina and consider staying a few days in the area to experience the small-town life of an area famous for its production of top-quality virgin olive oil (there is even an oil museum). Definitely include the magnificent 6th-century Farfa Abbey which was one of the most important monasteries in Europe at the time of Charlemagne. Ten minutes further in Santo Pietro a cluster of stone houses actually served as a defense line for the Abbey. The Corradini family welcomes guests to a portion of this hamlet where they offer guest accommodations in six bedrooms (two with private bathrooms outside the room) above the popular country restaurant where fresh pasta and savory local recipes are served. As you would expect in this setting, bedrooms are appointed with family antiques, armoires, chests and wrought-iron beds. Each has a particular feature, such as the mansard or the corner room with spectacular views. A living room with kitchen is also for guest use. The whole Corradini family with three grown children gets involved, especially on weekends when residents of the area and Romans come for a meal.
