Karen's Review Of This Property:
The Kronen Schlösschen offers deluxe accommodations. Completely redecorated in 2004, this attractive mansion, painted white with brown trim, is set in gardens across the highway from the Rhine. The Kronen Schlösschen has a whimsical look, with jaunty towers topped by peaked onion domes and a stepped roofline. From the courtyard, you enter into a pretty foyer with ornate stucco design and marble floors. A staircase leads up to the guestrooms, each one absolutely stunning in decor. Your choice of rooms depends upon what style appeals to you—some are smartly tailored in dark colors, others are spring-like with a pastel color scheme, some are modern, some antique. One of my favorites, mini-suite 29, has pale-yellow wallpaper, rich, natural-silk lemon-toned draperies, soft-green carpet, and comfortable, off-white matching sofas. No matter what room you choose, you will find glamorous marble bathrooms, truly fit for a king. The Kronen Schlösschen has two excellent restaurants: one an elegant gourmet dining room, the other, The Bistro, a less formal, pub-like room enclosed on two sides with windows. It is less than an hour from the Frankfurt airport, a convenient distance after a tiring transatlantic flight.
