Karen's Review Of This Property:
Bamberg is an absolute delight, a medieval city exuding the appeal of yesteryear. Just a few minutes’ walk from the picturesque Rathaus, which is perched on a tiny island and marvelously positioned fronting the River Regnitz, you find the Hotel Brudermühle, originally a 14th century. It is built within an exceptionally attractive, three-story building with green shutters and dormer windows peeking out from under the steeply pitched red roof. The gracious owners, Erna and Georg Vogler, have increased the hotel’s charm in the public rooms with a few well-chosen antiques. Just off the lobby is an attractive restaurant where good home cooking of regional specialties is served. Guests also tend to linger at tables set on the entry patio enjoying both the relaxed setting and prime people watching. The guestrooms in the original mill are sweet but simple: choice rooms are number 1 and 5. However, our favorite accommodations are the four outstanding guestrooms in a house just across the street—ask for one of these overlooking the stream with the gushing waterfall just below your window. There is also a beautiful old weigh station that has been converted into a 4-bedroom guesthouse.
