Karen's Review Of This Property:
Facing directly onto the street, Le Beguinage is an appealing, 18th-century, one-story house with a series of cute gables and perky chimneys accenting the steep roof. Enhancing the country-cottage look are green shutters, tall windows with white frames, and a heavy cloak of ivy. You would never guess from the front that the back of the house opens up to a marvelous garden. Here you see large sweeps of lawn, several ponds, mature shade trees, meandering paths, well-kept beds of flowers, and even a small river. There are plenty of lounge chairs thoughtfully placed so guests can relax and listen to the birds while enjoying the tranquility. Your hosts are Patricia and Brice Deloison, who lived in Paris before deciding to move to the countryside. Brice is a balloon pilot and can arrange to pick up guests in the back garden for a ride. This is a simple property, so if you are looking for top-of-the-line quality and a decorator-perfect interior, this might not be your cup of tea, but everything is spotlessly clean and well maintained. If you want a reasonably priced place to stay and a genuinely warm welcome, Le Beguinage is a very good choice. Be sure to ask for one of the rooms in the main house: these are more attractive. From Le Beguinage you can walk to Château de Cheverny and into town for dinner.
