Karen's Review Of This Property:
Chalet Rémy is an adorable 18th-century stone-and-wood farmhouse perched way up in the mountains with a view over the valley to the extraordinary summit of Mont Blanc. A profusion of flowers surrounds the house and geraniums grace the balconies. Chalet Rémy is particularly famous as a restaurant and on sunny days the terrace is brimming with families who have come to enjoy a wonderful meal there, surrounded by nature at its finest. The guestrooms all open onto a gallery, which looks down upon the floor below. Be forewarned: the accommodations are tiny and quite basic—staying here is a bit like camping out in a mountain lodge. Each room has a sink, but all share showers and toilets down the hall. Rooms 1 through 6 peek up at Mont Blanc. If luxury is important to you, this would not be an appropriate choice, but this rustic restaurant with rooms has a lovely location and plenty of old-fashioned natural charm. In winter, you can leave your car at St. Gervais, take the tram up to Bettex, take advantage of the shuttle between the chalet and the lifts, and at day’s end ski right to the front garden.
