Karen's Review Of This Property:
A lovely painted relief of grapevines along the top edge of the building and its pretty soft-pink-washed façade dressed with shutters lured me into the bar-reception of Le Relais. Not having discovered it on previous research trips, I questioned how recently it had opened, only to learn that it has existed for almost 50 years and that the present owner herself was born in the hotel! The main entrance to the hotel is just off the street and through the bar. The bar is popular with local residents, filled with conversation and smoke. Off the bar is a charming, simple country restaurant offering meals “en pension”, with wooden tables set with Provençal cloths and faïence vases laden with flowers. Guestrooms are quite simple, very basic in decor, but fresh and clean, enjoying modern baths and proper lighting. Serviced by an elevator, the guestrooms are also equipped with direct-dial phones, alarm clocks, color televisions with British stations. This is a hotel that can offer a central location with parking for a very reasonable price. A keyed back entrance is available for guests who do not want to come and go through the more public areas.
