Karen's Review Of This Property:
The Moulin de Fresquet is truly a jewel, with the heart of the old stone mill dating back to the 17th century. The millstream still flows right beneath the house—in fact, from several of the guestrooms you can look out the casement windows and watch the gurgling waters. The family room where guests gather for breakfast is filled with beautiful antiques that Gérard inherited from his grandmother. The ambiance is one of rustic beauty with handsome stone walls accented by family portraits and 200-year-old tapestries, heavy beamed ceiling, bouquets of fresh flowers, and a massive stone fireplace. A narrow staircase leads down to the attractive bedrooms, which have color-coordinated draperies and bedspreads, and French doors opening onto private patios. One of my favorites, Les Meules, is a large room with windows overlooking the stream, and a door onto the garden. Le Meunier enjoys a lovely sitting room and terrace near the mill. Claude, so pretty with sparkling brown eyes, is a fabulous cook, and dinner, served in a newly renovated building whose expanse of windows expose the lushness and peacefulness of the idyllic setting, is an event not to be missed. This lovely mill is located in one of the most beautiful regions of the southwest and convenient to the beautiful towns and villages of both the Dordogne and Lot river valleys.
