Karen's Review Of This Property:
Distanced from the river Lot by lush fields, across from the silhouette of St. Cirq Lapopie, this handsome, ivy-clad bourgeois home is an incredible bed & breakfast. Past the stone gates, I was impressed immediately by the meticulous grounds; weathered barn, garden with sitting areas and beautiful flowers, back terrace, and outdoor pool. Enter the home and the warmth, ambiance, and sense of family are enchanting. Originally purchased by Patrice’s father (inventor of a surgical clamp known internationally as the "Redon"), raised his family in Paris; but Patrice remembers family vacations at Redon and knew he was destined to return. He married Denise and they now share their beautiful home with fortunate travelers. Handsome antiques and family treasures decorate the rooms—including samplers made by Patrice’s grandmothers. The dining room, with a large, open, working fireplace, is the heart of the home. A gorgeous, spiral staircase winds upstairs; where five appealing guestrooms reside under cozy angled beams, overlooking the garden or a combination garden and canyon view. I favored Jaune, a creamy-yellow corner room with queen bed, and sofa tucked under a fan of beams. Pigonnier enjoys a small salon and bedroom with curtains cleverly made of beautifully embroidered sheets.
