Karen's Review Of This Property:
There's a magic to Collioure, and Casa Païral holds a key to this wonderful location at its heart. Tucked inside this lovely port town, on a small side street, the appealing stucco façade bathed in a color reminiscent of the Mediterranean sun will catch your eye. Entered from the arched stone-trimmed doorway, you find yourself in an oasis of tranquility. A complex of buildings stagger around the graveled courtyard, graced by a soothing fountain in the shade of a magnificent magnolia tree. The reception area is just off the tiled entrance, inside the original Maître house. Guestrooms are located up the winding stairs of the main house or up courtyard stairways of the more recently added buildings. We visited a number of rooms, all different in size and configuration, each with its own special charm. Room 26 is staggered on two levels; room 19 had two twin beds in a spacious large room with end windows. I especially liked room 22, a cozy corner room graced with its own small balcony and a double bed that overlooked the pool. The two junior suites share a large terrace. For breakfast, step down from the reception area into a room whose windows showcase the garden, where a buffet set on a table dramatically curving around a centuries-old lime tree.
