The lovely Chauveau home enjoys an idyllic setting on a hillside overlooking the family vineyards and the distant River Vienne. The fine art of relaxing is easy to master in these luxurious and scenic surroundings where each day begins with fresh croissants and coffee or tea on the terrace overlooking the lush valley. Impeccable taste prevails in the furnishings and decor, creating an elegant country-home ambiance. Madame Chauveau offers one suite with two bedrooms in her home and two more bedrooms in Tourelle, located poolside. Each guestroom enjoys its own private entrance and I was especially charmed by Tourelle Haute with its lovely views of the surrounding vineyards. The decor throughout is very handsome, with stone walls, slate-tile floors, and charming country antique furniture. Pretty print curtains and matching upholstery complete the pleasing ensemble. The Chauveaus’ pool and sunbathing terrace are inviting—perfect for a dip in the early morning or late afternoon after a day of wine tasting. A stay at Domaine de Beauséjour is truly an experience to be savored. Those on a longer stay might want to consider the spacious two-bedroom, one-bath self-catering unit.
