Karen's Review Of This Property:
Nestled back from the road that follows the bank of the Loire—a five minute walk to the Blois châteaux—the Côté Loire is hidden behind foliage of the tree that shades the square. Do not judge this hotel by its two star rating. It is an intimate, 7-room hotel that was just purchased by Thierry and Laurent. With their care and attention to detail, it will soon become one of Blois’ most charming small hotels. The lovely, old stone and timbered walls have embraced guestrooms for over 400 years. It was originally built to accommodate the servants and horses of notable clientele who settled in at a more luxurious neighbor. Accessed by a beautiful, central stairway, the majority of guestrooms are still modest in their décor and cozy in size, in harmony with the original construction. Theirry and Laurent have concentrated on comfort and cleanliness, and sincerely want to offer value to their guests. It was wonderful to be able to see the charming décor achieved in room 2, the largest with a handsome, antique bed and shuttered windows that open onto the square. Family mementos and antiques already decorate the public areas. A cozy bar doubles as reception and a side room serves as the lovely restaurant. The limited menu changes every few days. The kitchen is just off the bar and the door is always open—Thierry and Laurent welcome the opportunity to engage with their guests.
