Karen's Review Of This Property:
Old mills are almost always extremely appealing, and the pretty, 17th-century Petit Moulin du Rouvre is no exception. The picturesque stone building with steeply pitched, dark slate roof nestles in a lush grassy garden next to a small millpond that is backdropped by a dense green forest. You enter directly into the dining room, which is as cozy as can be with a cradle in front of a large fireplace. Stone walls, tiled floors, country-French table and chairs in the middle of the room, a wonderful antique armoire, and colorful plates on the walls make the room very warm and appealing. An adjacent parlor, with beamed ceiling and open fireplace, is somewhat more formally decorated and has windows opening onto the pond. There are five bedrooms, which are quite small and basic in decor, but immaculately clean. The choice bedroom is Les Amis, also referred to as Marine, decorated in blues and with an opening where you can look below and see the old water wheel.
