Karen's Review Of This Property:
The Lady A is certainly not your typical bed and breakfast—it is a barge. But the quality is so high, the warmth of welcome so genuine, that it is a pleasure to recommend it. Nowadays the 100-foot barge moves no more but remains moored on a charming small canal in an absolutely beautiful setting—beneath Châteauneuf, an extremely picturesque walled village crowning the nearby hill. The colorful barge is lots of fun. You quickly become friends with the other guests in a house-party atmosphere. Each of the three staterooms has a small private bathroom. The bedrooms are just big enough for two beds (which can be made into a king-sized bed), a closet, and shelves for clothes. Although cozy, the rooms are actually surprisingly spacious for a boat. When not sleeping or exploring Burgundy, guests spend most of their time on the deck—a great place to enjoy a drink in the twilight and watch the action of the other boats on the waterway. Another diversion: Sami now offers bicycle rides along the canal and into the countryside.
