Karen's Review Of This Property:
Bayeux is renowned for being the home of the Bayeux Tapestry and it is also one of France’s most picturesque towns. I include the Hôtel d’Argouges as Bayeux is a wonderful town to spend the night in and the d’Argouges is conveniently located on one of its main squares, sheltered behind tall gates. A large courtyard and stone, semi-circular staircase, dressed with an abundance of flowers, lead to the front entry of the hotel. French doors in the gracious salon-library open onto the quiet back garden and terrace. Looking out over the garden or front courtyard, many of the bedrooms have exposed beams, fabric-covered walls, and comfortable furniture as well as private shower or bath and phones. There are four suites with a small extra room for children and 27 is a dramatic, ground floor suite converted from what was the previous owner’s private accommodation. Additional bedrooms are found in an adjacent home. Breakfast can be enjoyed in the privacy of your room, in the intimate breakfast salon, or on the back garden terrace overlooking the brightly colored flowers. A convenient haven for travelers visiting Bayeux, the Hôtel d’Argouges offers good value in lovely surroundings plus gracious hosts, Pierrette and Yves, who take great pride in their métier and are commited to making the property even more beautiful than ever.
