Karen's Review Of This Property:
Richview has one of the most unique water views in Sooke, poised due south near an 80-foot drop into the Strait of Juan de Fuca. Simplicity of line is the hallmark in each of the three suites, the work of François Gething’s loving craftsmanship as a fine carpenter: bed frames of alder, red cedar window sills covered in cream-colored Roman shades, handsome sinks lined in eastern cherry with matching mirror frames. High vaulted-ceilings, skylights, and large windows grace these open and uncluttered spaces. Walls are painted white and resemble adobe with their gently rounded corners. Color is used sparingly. All rooms have sitting areas with beautiful, wood-burning fireplaces made of stone, gorgeous water views, and small patios. In The Garden Room, a two-person jetted soaker tub as well as a two-person shower that doubles as a steam bath are beautifully crafted to take full advantage of the room’s water view. Both the Spoon Room and the Frog Room have two-person soaking tubs on a protected balcony overlooking a lush garden and the ocean. This hidden and tranquil retreat is only a three-minute walk from Sooke Harbour House with its magnificent restaurant.
