Karen's Review Of This Property:
If you have a car you might want to consider staying only about ten minutes south of Salzburg in a 17th century country inn, The Schlosswirt zu Anif. Although, the hotel faces directly onto the main road, as soon as you step inside you feel a country ambiance. To the right of the lobby is an inviting dining room enhanced by checkered table cloths, wood planked floors, interesting old paintings on the walls, a wonderful old grandfather clock, fresh flowers on the tables and pretty girls in brightly colored dirndls serving the guests. A door leads off to a second, more formal dining room which is also designated as the non-smoking restaurant. In warmer weather, the favorite eating place is outside on the terrace where meals are served at tables under the shade of trees. Whereever you choose to dine, you will not be disappointed because this small inn is probably more famous for its excellent kitchen than for its rooms. The bedrooms, though, are most attractive and like the lounges, they are tastefully decorated in a formal, traditional Bedemeyer decor, many with antique wooden sleigh-style beds. Across the street there are additional rooms in an old wood and stucco farmhouse referred to as the Kammelbauer. A few guestrooms look out across the small lake to the inn's namesake, the very pretty and ornate, Schlosswirt Anif. The schloss is still a private residence and is only open to the public a few times a year.
